MISSION & VISION
Great Art Sparks Great Conversations
Studio Forty Two exists to expand what’s possible for artists and creative culture in Minneapolis and beyond.
Our mission is to break boundaries within creative industries by producing meaningful art experiences, supporting artists, and delivering bold creative work across design, media, and events.
Through exhibitions, live critiques, auctions, storytelling, and collaborative projects, we are building a platform where artists are supported, audiences are engaged, and creativity becomes a shared experience.
Our vision is simple: cultivate a community where artists are empowered and creativity thrives.

ORIGINS

How It All Started
Kasey Alexander Robinson grew up in North Minneapolis and attended Breck School from 6th through 12th grade. Raised by a family of athletes, educators, and social workers, he was surrounded early by values of faith, discipline, and service.
Kasey pursued a football scholarship throughout high school, unintentionally earning an art scholarship to Drake University where he also earned a spot on the football roster. He then transferred to the University of Minnesota, accepting his walk-on offer for their football program. After his sophomore year he stepped away from the game—and college—to rediscover his direction.
During that time, he began painting every day.
Within months, Kasey created fourteen artworks and organized his first exhibition in June of 2015. Every piece sold. The experience revealed something powerful: creativity could build opportunity. Inspired by that moment, and the ability to turn nothing into something, he decided to donate roughly $2,000 of the proceeds to the Washburn Center for Children.
Kasey later returned to the University of Minnesota and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Since then, he has organized more than ten community-based art events across Minneapolis, helping emerging artists showcase their work and often sell their first pieces. Much of this work was fueled by personal investment, long hours, and a belief that art can bring people together.
Studio Forty Two was created to turn that belief into a sustainable platform—one that supports artists, produces meaningful art curations and projects, and builds stronger creative communities.
