Everyone’s an Artist — 11/11 Event Recap

A Night of Voice, Vision, and Creative Momentum

A Night Marked by Intention — 11.11 at The Hennepin

On 11.11, the lights of The Hennepin rose on a gathering that felt like a heartbeat—steady, warm, and alive with possibility. Everyone’s an Artist was a curated creative experience that honored art in every form: conversation, community, performance, and shared imagination. Without question, it became one of our most powerful events to date.

A Panel That Moved the Room

Our live discussion was guided with poise and clarity by moderator Ti Akiel, whose presence shaped the conversation with a calm demeanor. The panelists—Neeka JacksonTejah VictoriaLiban Kano, and Samuel Fleming—offered insight shaped by honest experience, creative resilience, and the realities of leading in the Twin Cities arts ecosystem.

Samuel’s place on the panel added a special touch—he was selected at random from the artists featured in our pop-up gallery. We always add some unexpected elements to our events.

A Gallery of Eleven Remarkable Artists

This year’s pop-up gallery featured 11 talented local creators, each carrying their own visual language and perspective:

  • Jadyn Spann

  • Jessica Supple

  • Emily Landberg

  • Tatanka Lyons

  • Patience Epps

  • Carolina Hurtado

  • Ashley Guzman-Cazares

  • Mia Bins

  • Oluwatobi Akinroluyo

  • Samuel Fleming

  • and one additional artist (please share the missing name and I will update seamlessly)

Guests cast one vote each for their favorite piece of the night, and Jadyn Spann earned the evening’s top honor.

Simonét Poetry — A Moment That Stilled the Air

As the crowd settled, Simonét Poetry stepped forward and remade the entire atmosphere in a single breath. Her spoken word performance carried the weight of truth and the softness of vulnerability, echoing long after the final line. It was a moment that reminded us why art speaks where language fails.

A Personal Spark Rekindled

For me, the night did more than inspire—it clarified. The conversations, the energy, the sense of purpose from every artist and attendee pushed me to sharpen my craft and stand on business with renewed conviction. It was a reminder that when community gathers, momentum gathers with it.

Honoring Our Sponsors

This event was strengthened by partners who believe in the power of community-centered art:

  • Wet Paint — sponsored our easels and provided a gift card prize for the favorite artwork of the night.

  • Cake Club — provided delicious food that warmed the room and fueled the conversations.

  • Hennepin Arts — generously sponsored the venue, allowing us to fill their beautiful space with creativity, dialogue, and connection.

Their support helped elevate this gathering into something truly memorable.

Looking Ahead — A Community Rising

Everyone’s an Artist was more than a just an art event; it was a reflection of what happens when local voices come together with sincerity and ambition. The road ahead for Minneapolis art is bright, bold, and beautifully collaborative. Studio 42 is honored to be adding fuel to the fire that's already brewing in the Twin Cities.
