White Flowers

Back in 2020, the world was furiously closing in, getting smaller and smaller with each traumatic event that only served to separate us further from one another. In my isolation, I began to paint with a feverish intensity, and at the close of that horrible year, I embarked on a series of chaotic, gilded canvases. This became my first series of Rinpa-inspired paintings, loosely based on the style of 17th-century Japanese decorative paintings and screens.
