Sheldon J. Powell

Sheldon J. Powell, also known as The Honey bear Collection, is a Minnesota-based photographer specializing in editorials, portraits, and events. Originally drawn to the arts through a Graphic Design degree, he spent five years (2018–2022) in Los Angeles chasing opportunity. It was there he rediscovered the camera he once used for a college project tucked away in his brother’s closet. That moment reignited a creative flame, and by 2023, Sheldon was working professionally as a photographer.
After returning to Minnesota, Sheldon quickly pivoted into software development, completing a bootcamp and landing a role within several months. But when that chapter came to an unexpected end, he turned fully toward photography and never looked back. What began as curiosity had become a calling and the start of something much bigger.

Now expanding into cinematography, Sheldon is steadily building his path toward becoming a Creative Director and Director of Photography. His work balances design-minded precision with emotional storytelling driven with impecable coloring. Whether leading a stylized editorial, commercial or capturing real moments at live events, Sheldon approaches each project with vision, versatility, and a hunger to create what hasn’t been seen before.

The Honey bear Collection isn’t just a name it’s a strategy. Sheldon created a brand that could stand on its own, opening doors before he even walks into the room. In a world where first impressions don’t always reflect ability, the work leads the conversation. The name allows people to meet the vision first, and the person behind it second something that’s made all the difference for his future.
