Andrew Sjodin
Oil Painter
ARTIST BIO
Andrew Sjodin (b. 1981) is a classically trained painter and draftsman working in the realist tradition. His work combines an academic drawing foundation with an impressionistic approach to seeing and interpreting color. Sjodin creates still lifes, portraits, and figurative pieces working primarily in oils.
Although not always, much of his work is somber and quiet. His compositions are mindful, calling the viewer to slow down and dwell within the work and themselves.
Sjodin's work has received numerous awards and has been included in the prestigious Art Renewal Center's Annual International Salon on multiple occasions. His work is in collections throughout the United States.
Sjodin holds a B.A. in Philosophy from St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN (2004) and is a graduate of The Atelier Studio Program of Fine Arts, Minneapolis, MN (2014).
