Slow Down & Paint was an experience I didn't know that I needed. Everything is so busy all of the time and this forced me to stop. During the experience I recognized several tendencies and things going on in my life that wouldn't have otherwise surfaced. It's so helpful to just sit with yourself and have the sensory experience of the paint on a rough surface, calming sounds, relaxing prompts. The journaling aspect was surprisingly helpful as well. Definitely recommend this for team building or for busy people who need to take time for themselves.

I had such a great time at this event! The atmosphere was welcoming, fun, and relaxing from start to finish. The instructor was patient, encouraging, and made the whole process easy to follow, even for those with little or no artistic experience. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the experience and how proud I was of my finished painting! I would definitely attend another event and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, unique, and memorable activity.

Sip and Paint; From start to finish it was a well-oiled machine! I highly recommend taking the night to relax, sip some wine & be your own picasso!

I loved this event. Even as a new artist I felt so respected and welcomed through the entire process. There was a buzz in the room, the energy and excitement of a space where so many creatives were coming together. Studio42 ran this professionally, the flow of the evening worked so well from mingling, a spoken word performance, a talented panel discussion and lots of time for interacting with other artists. There was a sense of authenticity coming through the team who ran this and it was a very welcoming and open atmosphere. I am grateful to have been a part of this magic and looking forward to seeing what’s next!

Thanks for initiating Everybody’s an Artist — and especially for making this the first episode of many. I had a great time, and as always, I left energized after spending time with other creatives. The positivity of people working to build a creative career and life is inspiring and gives me hope.

Absolutely honored to be a judge for Everyone Is a Critic! This event was a powerful reminder of the incredible talent within our creative community. Each artist brought a unique perspective, pushing boundaries and sparking conversations through their work. What stood out most was the stories behind them—the thought, passion, and process that shaped each painting.

As an artist participating in "Everyone's a Critic," the environment and energy created by Kasey and his team were magnetic and beautiful throughout the entire evening. Although this was a competition, the host, Ramsey, did an amazing job of making the event feel inclusive and special for everyone on the artists' panel. The judges were very thorough and thoughtful with their critiques. I can't wait to see what events Studio 42 has planned for the future. I was so grateful to take part in this memorable and unique event.

This was a unique experience, I’m glad I got to be a part of it. To be amongst people as they see the art displayed in real time was great. Having the firsthand opportunity to get feedback of people’s initial thoughts was invaluable.

A Kings Ransom. The event was amazing with many artists throughout the Minneapolis Metro area all displaying their fantastic art. Being in a surrounding full of love and amazing people that participated in putting this show together did such a phenomenal job journeying the final project together.

Last year’s art show was such a charming and well-curated event! Set in an intimate downtown space, the show featured a wide variety of artists and works, creating an engaging and eclectic atmosphere. One of the highlights was the rooftop 360 Photo Booth, which added a fun, interactive element to the night. The snack options were solid, keeping everyone fueled while they explored the exhibits. Live performances by SVÅŇØĖ and Kinfu (if I’m remembering correctly) elevated the experience, making the evening feel even more immersive. Overall, it was a beautifully put-together event that balanced creativity, community, and a great vibe!
Proud of all the work the curators put into the experience I know it was a lot of work. Thank you!!!

I was an artist a the 'Worth a King's Ransom' show in 2022. I was excited to be asked to show my work and help raise money for V3 Sports. The S42 team does a great job of bringing multiple communities together, showing off local artwork, spotlighting local visual/performing artists, and bringing learning opportunities to the folks in attendance. To my surprise, I sold almost all my pieces and had an opportunity to visit and chat with other artists and the people who purchased my work. I loved sharing my expertise and artistic expression with the community.

My wife and I attended both the Silent Auction (where we won this breathtaking painting!) and we also attended the Live Art Critique.
Both events highlighted an extreme level of detail and thoughtfulness from Kasey the organizer. Both events were completely different and yet Kasey was able to utilize and maximize whatever space and amenities each Venue had to offer.
We had a phenomenal time and we are excited to see Kasey’s creativity and excellence on display in whatever event he decides to plan next!

I've attended multiple art events through the years hosted by S42. Each event has been intentional and showcased incredible talent. Every event has proven to be a great way to network and connect with people in the community who share similar interests. I walk away from every event with exposure to new and interesting artists, connections to the community, and inspiration.

Absolutely an amazing event! I got to both see and meet a bunch of local artists, some established and some not. That truly made it a special experience! It brought me into what I feel is Minnesota underground art culture. So shout out the artists and everyone who just made the event fun, open, and enjoyable! A+ from staff to creators!
