Shortly after my recent relocation to Minneapolis from Southern California, I found myself desperately in need of money. I scoured online job boards and reached out to old friends and associates, looking for any possible opportunity. In my desperation, I walked into a grocery store and asked the manager if they were hiring. A week later, I was employed there, soon hard at work ringing up groceries and stocking shelves.
